Precast Insulated Concrete Wall Panels provide an excellent solution to the many challenges facing buildings today while providing a comfortable and pleasant living space. Concrete is not just for basements and foundations. This creative wall system has the structural integrity to withstand fire, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and blasts while giving the owner choices of shape and finishes. The resulting buildings are safe, energy efficient, quiet, and economical.
- Energy Efficient: A layer of extruded polystyrene insulation (generally 2") is sandwiched between two layers of reinforced concrete and tied together with connectors that are 99.7% effective in eliminating thermal bridging. This system not only gives a dynamic " R" value of nearly 30, but also the mass of the system gives a demand lag which pushes the energy needs to the Off-Peak cheaper times. The thickness of the panels can be adjusted for different insulation depths and the concrete can vary for structural considerations. The panels area designed for above or below grade applications.
- "Green" Concrete: This is accomplished by adding Fly Ash to the mix along with the steel reinforcing which is made from recycled metal. The concrete aggregates can also contain recycled materials. The panels are manufacturing in an environment where the best "green" casting practices are utilized.
- Built to Last - The precast concrete panels are manufactured in a controlled plant environment with proven durable materials. This ensures Quality Construction with the further benefit of Reduced On-site Construction Time.
- Minimizes Mold and Mildew: By creating a building envelope that is both thermally efficient and moisture resistant, this wall system helps impede mold and mildew growth. The walls remain at a steady state (the Thermal Mass Effect) reducing the potential for dew point condensation. The sandwiched insulation also provides a moisture barrier further prevent moisture movement through the wall.
- Low Maintenance: The long term durability of this type of construction requires less maintenance and, therefore, less cost to protect it from nature's elements. Concrete does not rot, decay or burn, and there is no "warm" cavities or edible material to attract termites and other unwanted pests.
- Comfortable Living Environment: The steady state thermal effect of this wall system provides a comfortable and even temperature inside regardless of the weather outside. Inside it is quiet safe and secure.
- LEED Points: Concrete Insulated Wall Panels can make a substantial contribution to the goal of a certified LEED building. A minimum of 26 points is needed to become LEED certified. Up to 21 points can be attained in five of the six LEED categories.

| Sea Ranch House, CA Installed 2008 |
| The Sea Ranch House consists of 31 panels and was installed in a day and a half. The heaviest panel weighed approximately 6 tons. The exterior concrete finish has a course sandblast finish, which was done shortly after the panel installation, and then sealed with a concrete sealant. The interior surfaces were lightly sandblasted only. The roof will be copper (no eaves as per the Sea Ranch style) and the wall space between panels will generally be glass. This structure will be energy efficient and essentially fire resistant. |
